During our four years competing, the Jazziak’s Dance Teams have taken local competitions by storm! Through four competition seasons, we were able to rack up numerous judges awards, overall placements, and several high standing medals including two platinums. The exhilaration of success is not the only advantage to being on one of our dance teams; the unity, support, and respect among team members is what truly makes the Jazziak’s teams unique.
Requirements
Dance Team classes are invitation only. Students are accepted onto the teams through an audition process. Students auditioning for the dance teams must have taken ballet the previous year. No one will be allowed to audition without this prerequisite.
Dance team members are also required to take Ballet and Acro.
Dance team students will be expected to strictly follow the attendance policy. Any student who exceeds the allowance of 3 absences will be expelled from the team. Students have the option of sitting and watching a class due to illness or injury in order to maintain their attendance (see attendance policy) so there should be no excuse for missing more than 3 classes. All team members are responsible for paying their own competition fees. Competition fees are due PRIOR to the competition. Prices vary among competitions.
Dance is a very competitive field and dance competitions are growing increasingly more difficult! Please do not be discouraged if you do not make the team! Not making a team does not mean that you are not a good dancer; it just means that you might not be ready for the level of dancing we are looking for. Just keep on dancing and practicing and maybe next year you will ace your audition!
