Jessica Bourque

Jessica (Jasiak) Bourque began dancing with Dawn's School of Dance in Northborough at the age of 4. During her fourteen years there she acquired skills in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Lyrical dance and served as Jazz Company captain for 3 years. She also competed in several local and national competitions including Showstoppers in Myrtle Beach, S.C. From there she continued to study dance at Jo-Anne Warren Studios in Worcester and New England Dance Quarters in Amherst, MA. She further gained skills in Salsa dance and studied intensively with the dance majors at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas in the fall of 2001. In December of 2003 she received a Bachelors Degree in Dance School Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Since then, Jessica has continued to attend several dance classes and auditions including that for the Radio City Rockettes in New York City.
Intructors
Heather Christensen
Heather began dancing at a small studio in New Jersey when she was 4 . At the age of 5 she began her lessons with Joan Sheary, where she continued to dance throughout Elementary and High School. During those years she danced with a company that trained intensively in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern and Lyrical dance. This also brought opportunities for her to compete in local and national competitions such as Dance Masters of America and Star Power, and to participate in dance workshops in New York City, Boston and Orlando. In 2001 Heather graduated from Nichols College with a degree in Psychology. She has since taught preschool as well as youngster dance classes at a local studio.
Alyson Avoglia

Alyson began dancing at the age of 3 and trained with the Cathy Taylor School of Dance for fourteen years. She has competed locally and nationally in such competitions as Dance Masters of America, Headliners, Starpower and American Dance Spectrum. She was a lyrical dance soloist for six years and also performed with the Indianapolis Ballet Company's production of the Nutcracker. Alyson then went to earn a B.S. from Bentley College, where she was a member of the Bently Dance Club. She has continued taking classes throughout the area in Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Yoga.
Colleen Cote

Colleen (Burkhardt) Cote learned to dance from Michael Smith at the Michael Smith Academy of Boston. She started dancing at the age of 5, but she did not learn Irish Step Dancing until she was 12. This brought the opportunity for Colleen, along with her brother and sisters, to compete at the Irish festivals "Feis" and "Oireachtas". When Michael Smith relocated his dance school back to Boston Colleen began her training with Mary McInerney. When her daughter Shannon was born Colleen took a break from dancing until Shannon was 4 years old, when she too started taking lessons from Miss Mary. This gave Colleen the chance to help out with her daughter's Irish Step classes and the many programs they participated in including "March Madness".
Heidi Burkhardt
Heidi Burkhardt started dancing at the age of 3 learning Tap and Ballet from Mrs. Healy's Dance School in Boylston. At the age of 9 she began Irish Step Dancing under the direction of Michael Smith of the Michael Smith Academy of Worcester. Here she studied Reels, Jigs, Slips, Hornpipes and Ceili Dances. At the age of thirteen Heidi, along with her sister Colleen, won the privalages to compete in the Oreichtas with a chance to compete in Ireland. When the Michael Smith Academy relocated back to Boston, Heidi continued studying through private lessons with the Mary McInerney School of Irish Dance. She has competed and performed in many shows and feiseanna throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine.
Audra McNamara

Audra McNamara began dancing at the age of 3 with Walter Fields in Worcester. She later went on to study Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Pointe at Dawn's School of Dance where she took for over fifteen years. During her time at Dawn's she was able to compete in several local and national competitions including Showstoppers Talent Competition in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She has since studied Ballroom and Salsa dance at several local studios. Audra has a B.A. in Business from Anna Maria College. She has been working as an instructor and assistant with Jazziak's since it opened in 2003.
Patricia McIntosh
Patricia (Murphy) McIntosh started dancing at the age of 3 at Dawn's School of Dance in Northborough where she took classes for 15 years. She also attended Charlotte Klein Dance Center for two years. She is experienced in Ballet, Pointe, Tap and Jazz. For 12 years Tricia also studied Irish Step Dancing under the instruction of Bernadette VanArsdalen. She was a high-school cheerleader and competed in local cheerleading competitions as well as local and national talent competitions. She is a graduate of Westfield State College with a B.A. in Liberal Studies. Most recently she taught Irish Step Dancing at a local Christian school and as been enjoying time as a stay at home mom.
Jennifer Benson
Jennifer Benson began dancing at the age of 4 at Diane Kelley Dance Studios in West Boylston. While there she studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, and Modern dance. She traveled weekly to the acclaimed Sherry Gold Studios and took classes from Rhee and Rennie Gold and competed regionally and nationally for eight years. Jenn continued her dance education at Burncoat High School where she studied with Joan Sheary and was part of the Magnet Program. She performed in school productions, performed at local elementary schools with the Traveling Team, and taught an after school program for grades 4-6. After graduating high school, Jenn continued studying dance with Nola Borrelli's Dance Studio and was part of their senior company that won many regional and national titles. In 2001 Jenn joined the teaching staff of Greendale Dance Academy where her choreography has won several high awards, overall titles, soloist titles, judges awards, special recognitions, and college scholarships. In addition to teaching Jenn is the owner of "Miss Jenn's Danceduds" in West Boylston. Today Jenn continues to study with many nationally recognized teachers including Frank Hatchett, Napoleon and Tabitha D'Umo, Finis Jhung, Bob Rizzo, Cathy Roe, Stepp Stewart, Mignon Furman, and many more.
Kayla Quigley
Kayla Quigley studied at schools in Connecticut and Pennsylvania at a young age before coming to Massachusetts, where she continued her studies at Mass Motion Dance Academy in Sturbridge under Joan Sheary and Terry Gordon. During her time at Mass Motion, Kayla earned numerous starring roles in that school's performances of Aladdin, The Lion King, and Peter Pan, to name a few. She has performed for such special functions as the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Disney Radio, for the Mayor of Boston, and has participated in many Christmas performances at the Prudential Center in Boston. Kayla is also credited for starting the Hip-hop dance group "Ruckus" at Framingham State College. Kayla has several years of experience in such dance forms as Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Modern, Hip-hop, and Salsa dance and has years of competitive experience. Kayla is currently a full time student at Quinsigamond Community College where she is pursuing a degree in Business Administration and Photography.
